Reverse Mortgage

Your home has value. You shouldn't have to sell it to use it.

For homeowners 62 and older, a reverse mortgage can turn part of your home's equity into funds — without a required monthly mortgage payment. It isn't right for everyone, and I'll tell you plainly if it isn't right for you. But for the right situation, it can change what retirement feels like.

No credit pull. No obligation. I'll get back to you personally — usually the same day.

THIS IS A REAL DECISION

This is a real decision — so let's treat it like one.

A reverse mortgage is a significant choice, and you deserve a clear, unhurried explanation — not a pitch. There's a lot of noise and some genuine misunderstanding around these loans. So my job here is simple: explain how it actually works, in plain language — including the parts that don't apply to you — and help you decide with your family, not on the spot. If it's not the right fit, I'll say so.

Common Worries

The four things people worry about most

"Will I still own my home?"

Yes. You keep title and ownership throughout. You continue living there, responsible for property taxes, insurance, and upkeep.

"What happens to it when I pass away?"

Your heirs can repay the loan and keep the home, or the home is sold and the balance repaid from the proceeds — with any remaining equity going to your estate.

"I still have a mortgage on it."

You don't have to be mortgage-free to qualify. Any existing mortgage is typically paid off using the reverse mortgage proceeds at closing.

"I don't want to be rushed into this."

You won't be. Reverse mortgages come with mandatory, independent HUD-approved counseling before anything can move forward. I see that as protection, not a hurdle — you get an unbiased explanation alongside mine before you decide.

How It Works

What a reverse mortgage actually does

Instead of you paying the lender each month, the balance grows over time and is repaid later — usually when the home is sold, you move out permanently, or you pass away. You can use the funds to supplement retirement income, cover healthcare costs, pay off an existing mortgage, or simply create breathing room. When the loan is repaid from the home's sale, any remaining equity goes to you or your heirs.

FAQ

Questions people don't want to ask out loud

Is counseling really required?

Yes — HUD-approved counseling is a required step before closing, and I'll help you arrange it.

Can my adult children join the conversation?

Please bring them. The best decisions here are made together, and I'd rather answer everyone's questions at once.

What if I decide it's not for me?

Then it's not for you, and we're done — no follow-up pressure. Plenty of people talk it through and decide to wait or pass. That's a good outcome too.

Is there a deadline to decide?

No. There's no clock on this. Take the time you and your family need.
